The ProRep Lamp Dome with PID Dimming Thermostat 150W pairs a 215mm aluminium reflector dome with a thermostat integrated into the fitting, suiting larger enclosures and higher-wattage basking lamps. PID control adjusts output continuously instead of switching the lamp off, so the basking temperature holds steady and the light stays constant.

Set the probe at basking height rather than at floor level, and mount the dome where the animal cannot reach the hot outer shell. Use only incandescent, halogen or compatible dimmable heat lamps — never fluorescent, compact fluorescent, LED, mercury vapour, metal halide or any non-dimmable lamp — and isolate from the mains before changing a lamp. The unit is a source of heat and visible light only and should be used alongside a separate UVB lamp where the species requires one.
