The ProRep Lamp Dome with PID Dimming Thermostat 100W combines an aluminium reflector dome with a thermostat built into the fitting, giving accurate control of a basking site from a single unit. A PID controller continuously trims power to the lamp rather than switching it on and off, holding the target temperature without the light cycling.

Position the probe at the height the animal will bask at rather than on the enclosure floor, and site the dome so no animal can come into contact with the hot outer surface. Use only incandescent, halogen or compatible dimmable heat lamps — never fluorescent, compact fluorescent, LED, mercury vapour, metal halide or any non-dimmable lamp — and disconnect from the mains before changing a lamp. This unit provides heat and visible light only, so pair it with a separate UVB lamp where the species requires one.
