Curly-wing flies (Musca domestica) are houseflies with a curled-wing trait that stops them flying, supplied as casters (pupae) that hatch in the tub. Once hatched, the flies walk and hop rather than fly off, so they stay where your animal can hunt them, and their movement draws a strong response from species that take flying insects in the wild, such as chameleons, day geckos, amphibians and mantids. Because they arrive as casters, you can control when they hatch and keep a supply coming over several days.
• Flightless flies that stay within reach
• Movement triggers a strong feeding response
• Arrive as casters, so hatching can be timed
• Suited to chameleons, small lizards, amphibians and mantids
Keep the tub warm to hatch the casters, or somewhere cooler to slow hatching and spread them over several days. Dust the flies lightly with ProRep Calci Dust or NutriRep before feeding.
Pack Size: Approx. 3.9g of casters per tub
