ProRep Tortoise Life Bio is part of the species-specific “Life” series, created for Mediterranean, Russian, and other dry-habitat tortoises. This professional mix of loam, fine sand, and coconut husk replicates the natural soils of their environment, encouraging digging, burrowing, and natural behaviour. The inclusion of coconut husk creates a lighter, organic-rich substrate that is safe if ingested, while also helping with moisture retention and maintaining a healthy microclimate within the enclosure. Spread the substrate evenly across the enclosure floor to a depth of at least 5cm for young tortoises, or 15cm or more for mature animals. Russian tortoises may require deeper layers due to their burrowing behaviour. Spot clean daily to remove soiled substrate and fully replace every 2–3 weeks. Areas may be lightly dampened to provide localised humidity, but avoid over-saturating the substrate. Suitable for use in both glass and well-sealed wooden vivariums.
