Place the block directly in the tortoise enclosure. Tortoises will naturally approach and use the block as needed. Ensure UVB light of the correct wavelength and intensity is provided, or supplement with oral vitamin D3, to maximise calcium absorption. Inspect occasionally for small flint fragments, which are natural and easy to distinguish from the white calcium.
