ProRep Calcium Sand 5Kg is made from 100% pure natural limestone, ground into a fine sand substrate. As it is composed of pure calcium carbonate, it will dissolve if ingested, making it far less likely to cause gut impaction than other sands. This substrate is ideal for reptiles that require a dry, sandy environment but can also be slightly moistened under hides to create areas of localised humidity without the risk of rotting.

Spread to a depth of 2.5–5cm (1–2 inches) across the enclosure floor. Spot clean daily and replace fully every 2–3 weeks or sooner if heavily soiled. Avoid using thick layers over heat mats, as this can cause overheating. For reptiles consuming sand, review diet, supplementation, and UVB provision, as this may indicate a deficiency.
