Use with a dimming thermostat to hold a stable temperature gradient, and always fit a lamp guard so the animal cannot make direct contact with the hot glass. This lamp is a source of heat and visible light only, so pair it with a separate UVB lamp where the species requires one, and check surface temperatures at the closest point the animal can reach.
